One of the reason I quilt with an APQS machine is customer service and the made in America factor. Last year APQS came out with the option of having either an M bobbin or the L bobbin on new machines. Now they have come out with an entirely new generation of machines. They now have a lifetime warranty. Can you imagine that?
Another feature that quilters have been asking for for years is a low bobbin sensor and guess what, the new generation of machines have it!!!
I am updating the website to under APQS to tell you all about the new features and prices. |

Well this will be the year to get some long held UFO's and PIGS done or at least further along than they are. The Quilting Bee group on My Quilt Place has issued a FIUP challenge for 2012. So you make a list of what you can accomplish every two months. First up, finish my husband's shirt I cut out in July. I have now cut the collar 2 times and it still won't fit. I have made this shirt a dozen times so have no idea what is going on. Next up is finishing grandson Alex's quilt, he has only been waiting 6 years for it. |

As we took down the outside Christmas decorations yesterday, I was amazed at how many we actually had put up. It got me to reflecting on how I sometime view my life. Instead of looking at the individual blessings I have, I look at the whole and many times the worries or struggles make the whole appear less than what it is, a life full of blessings. Do any of you experience the same thing? I have decided that this year I will view my life differntly.
Just as the soil for the garden must be cared for with dilligence, so must life be cared for. |

The little flannel quilt with the double row of pieced blocks with only 1/2 inch extra width on each side, is finished. I thought I would have a lot of trouble with tension and thread breakage, but my wonderful machine quilted through all the seams with no problem whatsoever. It turned out really cute. I am attaching a couple of pictures, one of the front and one of the back.
Well seems this blog does not like my pictures. Will try again later.

The NW Quilt Expo was so much fun . It was good to get my machine home and set her up again so I can start on my customers' quilts. I have three antique quilts and one for a dear friend that are going to be a lot of fun. Only problem is, my machine came home a little unhappy and it has taken most of the week to get her well again. Finally loaded the next top in line, and the backing is only 1/2 inch wider on each side. Grrrr. So rather than send the back home again (yes it has gone home to have more added to it) I am going to just be really careful and quilt it as is. |

As I was clearing out summer flowers and getting ready for fall I was thinking how like seasons our life is. It is a time to remove the old flowers and get ready for a new season. My life is kind of like that right now as I contemplate retiring this year. I will be cleaning out a desk after 18 years of service at one law firm and preparing for a new season. While I pulled the weeds that had grown up amongst the flowers, I reflected how many weeds had managed to grow up around me, like discontent and some bitterness and the fear of the unknown. |

What a wonderful day at the quilt show. Beth and I were very busy in the APQS booth. We had some wonderful people stop by and play with our machines. I haven't had time to look at all the quilts yet but the ones I did get to see were all beautiful!! The vendors are all so nice and plan on spending money tomorrow, the Superior Thread booth is close by and my thread stash needs replenished. It has been fun just doing freehand designs on the practice piece we have loaded. |

Building a website is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Still some work to be done but am going to go live tonight. I am really looking forward to writing about my quilting and my life.
For today I will just leave you with my thanks for stopping by.
Scripture for today So you'll go out in joy, you'll be led into a whole and complete life. The mountains and hills will lead the parade bursting with song. All the trees of the forest will join the procession, exuberant with applause. Isaiah 55:12 MSG |
